In the second scenario, the body starts giving in; especially if the continuing overwhelming circumstance isn’t really something the body can handle. While the stress reaction is maintained by the body, we experience side effects. These side effects are more familiar to us as the symptoms of stress: headaches, lack of sleep, loss of appetite, and a whole lot more. When one does not address the stress, it can lead to other psychological and physical problems.
Stress management relief practices are all about relieving stress when it has already clung to a person. These practices are separated into three categories, namely relaxation, movement, and being positive. Relaxation includes yoga, meditating, or simply listening to music. While classical is suggested for stress relief, any music that interests a person has relaxing properties. Movement involves exercises or hobbies that can take one’s attention away from the stress.
Having a positive outlook on life can be a stress management relief technique and a stress reducer at the same time. Developing a positive mindset allows one to face all the stressors he or she encounters and deals with them accordingly because their thoughts are more organized than one who panics after, say, given a lot of workload. Stress management relief techniques vary a lot and there are those that may work for some people and not work for others. Try to figure out what stressors you have first. Sometimes, it may just be as simple as getting to work or school early.
